Mentorship

 

As a professional you are always learning and we all know that experience counts for a lot. Mentorship opens you up to learning that you would only otherwise access through actual experience. It also enables you to access experience already obtained by another individual and you learn from that person's experience. Being mentored means you will develop a relationship with someone you can learn from, you look up to and you believe is capable of directing you to a vast network of knowledge. Hopefully your mentor can guide you to align yourself better for opportunities and ensure that your learning gives you a better competitive advantage, but remember that what you do with the knowledge and experiences learned from your mentor is up to you.
