Requirements:

  1. Between the ages of 17 – 25 years old.
  2. Currently in Grade 12 OR have university exemption.
  3. Need financial assistance to pursue a qualification in performing or visual arts as a South African tertiary/accredited institution, for studies commencing in 2027.
  4. Not currently registered at a tertiary institution/accredited institution for the 2026 academic year.
  5. Do not have an existing tertiary qualification in an arts/creative discipline from a South African tertiary/accredited institution.
  6. Not considered a professional artist – (have specialized training/and or employed full time in their artistic discipline).
  7. Not a 2025 ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme participant or finalist.
  8. Willing and able to commit to the 6-month duration of the programme.

Requirements:

  • South African citizens residing within City of Ekurhuleni (proof required).
  • Between 18 and 35 years of age.
  • Completed Grade 12
  • Secured an acceptance letter or proof of registration for the 2026 academic year.
  • Provide proof of total monthly household income
  • Successful applicants must sign a bursary contract with the City.
  • Bursary recipients may be required to complete vacation work in municipal departments.
  • Students must maintain a minimum yearly average of 70% to continue receiving the bursary.
  • The City reserves the right to withdraw the bursary for poor academic performance or misconduct.
